The Big Idea – Gratitude and Growth

The Big Idea – Gratitude and Growth

Big Idea

Percents show fair shares. When one school gets a higher percent of funding than another, students may not have equal opportunities. God calls us to seek justice and make sure resources are shared fairly.

Math + Faith Example

  • District A funds schools at 120% of the state average.
  • District B funds schools at 75% of the state average.

Difference = 45%

This means students in District B have much less money for books, teachers, and activities. Percents reveal how unfair shares can harm opportunity.

Scripture Connections

  • Proverbs 31:9 (KJV): “Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
  • Micah 6:8 (KJV): “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
