The Big Idea – Faithfulness Over Time

Big Idea

Linear relationships show how two quantities change together. In many communities, travel time to schools or jobs increases as distance grows. Some areas lack fair transportation options, making it harder for people to access opportunities. God wants all people to have pathways that lead to growth and success.

Math + Faith Example

Suppose travel time grows at a steady rate of 5 minutes per mile:

  • 1 mile → 5 minutes
  • 3 miles → 15 minutes
  • 6 miles → 30 minutes
  • 10 miles → 50 minutes

Equation: Time = 5 × Distance
This linear relationship shows how far people live affects their opportunities.
