The Big Idea – Godly Priorities First

Big Idea

The order of operations helps solve problems step by step. Families also use “order” when planning budgets — income, expenses, savings, and giving. God cares about wisdom in handling money and providing for others.

Math + Faith Example

  • A family earns $2,000 each month. Their budget looks like this:

    1. Rent = $800
    2. Food = $400
    3. Utilities = $200
    4. Savings = $300
    5. Giving = $100

    Remaining: $200

Just like solving math step by step, families must put needs in the right order. Changing the order changes the outcome.

    Scripture Connections

    • 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV): “Let all things be done decently and in order.”
    • Proverbs 21:20 (KJV): “There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.”
