The Big Idea – Restoring What’s Uneven

Big Idea

Equations allow us to set two sides equal and solve for fairness. In workplaces, equations can show whether people are being paid fairly across different job sectors. God values honesty and justice in how people are treated.

Math + Faith Example

Job A (teaching assistant): $15 per hour
Job B (construction helper): $20 per hour

Equation:
If a person works h hours, then:

  • Pay for Job A = 15h
  • Pay for Job B = 20h

If both workers earn $600 in a week:

  • Job A: 15h = 600 → h = 40 hours
  • Job B: 20h = 600 → h = 30 hours

This shows how different pay rates affect hours needed to earn the same income.
