The Big Idea – Seeking Balance, Not Comparison

The Big Idea – Seeking Balance, Not Comparison

Big Idea

Ratios compare two groups. In our world, internet access is not equal across all communities. Some groups have more access, while others have less. God cares that all people have the chance to learn and connect.

Math + Faith Example

  • Community A: 8 out of 10 families have internet → Ratio = 8:10 (or 4:5)
  • Community B: 5 out of 10 families have internet → Ratio = 5:10 (or 1:2)

Comparing these ratios shows that families in Community A are more connected than those in Community B. Ratios help us see where equity gaps exist.

Scripture Connections

  • Proverbs 18:15 (KJV): “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.”
  • Hosea 4:6 (KJV): “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
