The WEMBACK™ Scholarship Fund honors their lives by supporting Black learners who embody the values they passed down.


🎓 About the Scholarship

Pilot Year Award: $500

The WEMBACK™ Scholarship is awarded to a high school or college student who demonstrates: – LeadershipAcademic effort (not perfection)Commitment to communityResilience and character

This scholarship supports expenses such as: – Tuition – Books – Dual-enrollment costs – Required academic supplies

Funds are paid directly to the school to support the student’s educational success.


📅 Application Timeline

Applications Open: March 1, 2026
Applications Close: March 31, 2026
Finalists Notified: May 1, 2026
Winner Announced: June 1, 2026


✅ Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must: – Identify as a Black student (HS 11–12 or enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college) – Demonstrate leadership, service, or community involvement – Show academic responsibility (effort, growth, improvement) – Submit all required application materials


📝 Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • 1. Application Form (linked below)
  • 2. Short Essay (300–500 words): “How have you empowered your community, and how do you hope to use education to continue that work?”
  • 3. Transcript or latest report card
  • 4. One recommendation (teacher, counselor, mentor)
  • 5. Proof of enrollment (acceptance letter, student ID, or counselor verification)

The WEMBACK™ Ambassador Circle is a group of family members committed to carrying the legacy forward.

Ambassadors are not donors — they are: – Storytellers of the WEMBACK™ legacy – Recruiters who spread the word to students – Reviewers who help score applications – Supporters who promote the scholarship each year – Representatives who attend the annual celebration
